This manual, developed under the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) and in support of the Borno Model, equips local stakeholders with indigenous approaches to transitional justice. It contains 10 practical modules across two sections:
- Section One (Modules 1–4): Focuses on justice, reconciliation, and sustainable peace, rooted in Islamic teachings and local traditions like sulh and adalci.
- Section Two (Modules 5–10): Offers alternative narratives to counter Boko Haram’s extremist ideology, covering topics like takfir, jihad, hijra, relations with non-Muslims, western education, and governance.
This manual is a vital resource for rebuilding communities affected by insurgency and promoting peaceful reintegration.
