This week, the Grassroots Aid and Relief for Community-Based (GARCB), with support from Nigeria Spring, organized a two-day training workshop for media practitioners in Kaduna and Niger States.
The training focused on conflict-sensitive reporting, alternative dispute resolution, and trust-building messaging, aiming to strengthen the role of the media in promoting peace and social cohesion.
Recognizing the media as a critical stakeholder in shaping public perception, the workshop emphasized the importance of responsible communication and dialogue-driven narratives as tools for conflict prevention and reconciliation.
A total of 40 media professionals—including radio producers, news presenters, and print journalists—participated in the sessions across both states. Through this engagement, GARCB is fostering a more informed and proactive media community committed to raising public awareness on dialogue and reconciliation as pathways to lasting peace.
