The lack of project sustainability strategy that will facilitate long-term implementation of transitional justice programmes in post-conflict settings. As the Government efforts toward reintegration of the ex-Boko Haram combatants proceeds apace, there is the need to provide technical support to the state government on transitional justice to enhance community dialogue and reconciliation and prevent possibilities for retributive justice in returned communities. Our proposed project will focus on the following thematic areas of transitional justice in the northeast with long-term legacy.  Develop a Manual on local context called  Sulhu Transitional Justice training Manual focus on alternative dispute resolution using Sulhu religious perspectives/narratives for the training of community stakeholders, traditional and faith-based actors across the 3 states, and  provide alternative narratives /counternarratives for deradicalization and Countering Violent Extremism for surrendered former Boko Haram members undergoing deradicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration programs in the camps in Maiduguri and youth groups.

Qualification

  • A minimum requirement of Master’s degree in any Social Sciences discipline and possessing PhD with years of experience working in the academics and CSOs in research will be of added advantage.
  • Experience on multidisciplinary approach in advanced and evidenced-based research and knowledge production in the areas of peacebuilding, CVE, transitional justice, interfaith and theological knowledge not least Islamic knowledge/perspectives on counter narrative and/or alternative narratives to counter radicalization programme is highly recommended for this position.
  • Evidence of working experience in developing Peacebuilding/Transitional Justice related Manual with other NGOs/CSOs will be added advantage.

 Responsibilities

  • Development of training Manual for (a) certification course program on transitional justice (b) training of cohorts of community peacemakers and Sulhu-reconciliation interlocutors who will be engaged in step-down training at the community level.
  • Training of trainers on countering violence and deradicalization programme
  • Working with other consultants to develop the training Manual.

Job: Project Associate

Job Location: Maiduguri Borno State

Contract term: Fixed Term with 6 months’ probation period.

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree/ or relevant any other related degree, a post graduate degree will be added advantage.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working as a programme officer/ project officer in any NGO working in Northeast, Nigeria.
  • Cognate experience in programme management, donor reporting and ability to independently implement assigned programmes within the project locations.
  • Demonstrate previous working experience with NGOs/CSOs in the implementation of community-based dialogue and social cohesion programmes especially in the project locations.
  • Experience in working in conflict-sensitive and gender-sensitive environment.
  • Multi-tasking and excellent time management skills
  • Sound analytical and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressures to meet strict deadline on project management, and donor reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of the local environment particularly the BAY states, and proven ability of networking with community stakeholders and communication in local languages especially Hausa and Kanuri is highly recommended for the position.

Responsibility

  • Contribute to the development and production of action plan and corporate plan.
  • Development of concept note and working with the finance team to the develop budget for project implementation.
  • Ready to travel to project locations and any official assignment out of the country
  • Responsible for delivery output for a specific project through direct input into project activities from conception to the implementation phase.
  • Develop a proposal and donors report result and impact.
  • Provide support for projects, administration such as negotiating with hotel, identification of service providers/ consultants.
  • Working with Programme Director and manger in project implantation
  • Develop activity report and project report to be submitted to the Director of project.
  • Work with community stakeholders in the mobilization of participants/beneficiaries for our wide range of community-based activities.

Job: Office Assistant

Contract term: Fixed Term with 6 months’ probation period.

Qualification

  • Diploma or National diploma in any discipline, a computer knowledge will be added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as Office Assistant in NGO.
  • Experience in record keeping/ filling, and proper documentation.
  • Experience in cleaning and tiding of office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.

Responsibility

  • Undertake the cleaning of the interior and exterior parts of the office, and the capacity to always keep the working environment neat and tidy.
  • Photocopy of documents, record keeping and filling of document as directed.
  • Removal of trash from interior trash containers and dispose at the outdoor dumpster.
  • To run errands as may be required by Head of Admin & Finance.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Any other duties that may be arisen to support the management team.

Job: Communication Officer

  • Has experience in contents and communication strategy development
  • Ability to create video and photography in line with project objectives
  • Experience in working in conflict environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sound analytical and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressures to strict deadline as well as multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication in English and Hausa language

Responsibility  

  • Develop cordinate and implement the communications strategy of the project and undertake the regular updates of the project’s main communication tools for GACRB.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance and support for the the design of activities related to media which relates to engagement on exposing fake news, misinformation and disinformation at all levels.
  • Provide support and lead ( where needed) in developing high quality communication content for external and internal use.
  • Build, network and maintain strategic partnership with media outlets, journalist, and online community organisers in Northeast region.
  • Working with communication team, draft, edit and post compelling and engaging content for print and social media platforms including GACRB website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • To offer expert advice on reputational and other media risks arising from programmatic policy and campaigns issues.
  • Assist in creating media visibility opportunity for GACRB
  • Preparing talking points, and facilitating radio, TV and print media interviews where necessary.
  • Day to day support of media programs and communication team on planning and implementation of project activities in the Northeast.
  • Assist in the planning and organising of project press briefing and post- event follow-up for maximum media exposure
  • Assist in activity planning and monitoring.
